Microsoft outlook 2013 upgrade in progress stuck free –

When you see a dead guy in an empty room, with a smoking gun next to him, it is highly likely that the gun killed him even if you didn’t hear the boom. I did the same thing – uninstalled the 40 bazillion updates from today and restarted. Agreed, the simplest answer is likely the right one. How do I uninstall an update please? Surely Microsoft should be looking at fixing this if it is a universal problem caused by one of their updates?

Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Wayne W. So I restarted the PC and went on my merry way. Upgrade in process Your Mailbox is being optimized yada yada yada Upgrade Outlook Connector Since the only thing that has occurred is an automatic update of my PC via the Auto Updates feature, I am at a loss as to why I am getting this fault.

In reply to Wayne W’s post on March 23, Exactly the same situation here. Office Updates seems to have messed with my Outlook I even uninstalled my TimeTrade Outlook Connector as it was the only program that looked as though it might have been interfering but no luck! In reply to CarolVickers’s post on March 24, The whole business with Connector I think was just an indicator of the underlying problem. In reply to Wayne W’s post on March 24, Given the challenge to this update, I hope Microsoft reconsiders whatever was in there!

Removing and reinstalling the connector did not work. It still says it is updating. It is clearly a bug. I’m now using Outlook which I really don’t like.

I’d prefer to go back to Will there be a fix for this? In reply to LisaWhyte1’s post on March 25, In Windows 10, choose Start , type Outlook. If Outlook isn’t stuck at a screen that says “Processing,” or this didn’t resolve your issue, continue to the steps below. If those steps don’t work, see Need additional help?

Some things you do in Outlook ask for confirmation. For example, the first time you try to Dismiss All on a list of reminders, Outlook asks you if you’re sure you want to do that. If you don’t choose an option on that dialog box, Outlook won’t let you do anything else. Check for open dialog boxes. If you try to delete or move a large number of messages at once, Outlook can appear to freeze, but really, it’s working behind the scenes. Check the status bar at the bottom of the screen.

If Outlook is performing some operation on hundreds or thousands of messages at once, it might appear to be stuck. Give Outlook a few minutes to finish the process and it should start to work again.

Outlook works best when it’s up to date. We recommend setting Windows Update to automatically download and install recommended updates. Bug fixes, new features, and performance enhancements are released regularly. To install the latest Windows and Office updates, see Install Office updates. Repairing your Office programs can resolve issues with Outlook not responding or freezing. Errors in Office files are repaired automatically. In Control Panel , choose Programs and Features. In the list of installed programs, right-click Microsoft Office or Microsoft Office , and then choose Change.

EXE is also installed on your PC. The Inbox Repair Tool can resolve issues by scanning your Outlook data files and repairing errors. Your profile stores a variety of settings that control how Outlook looks and feels.

You can create a new profile and then add your email accounts to the new profile. In Windows 10, choose Start. Type Control Panel and press Enter. Enter an email address and a password for the primary email account you use in Outlook and then walk through the steps to create the profile.

Once the profile is created, on the Show Profiles dialog, choose Prompt for a profile to be used. If creating a new profile solves your issue, you can return to the Show Profiles dialog and delete your old profile.
